How to Right Click on Mac Computers
New Mac users can find the single button mouse and trackpad common on Mac computers confusing after growing accustomed to right-clicking on Windows computers. Though many Mac mouses and trackpads have no visible button, you can set areas of the device to respond to left and right clicking from the "System Preferences" menu. However, many Mac users take advantage of a keyboard shortcut to replicate a right click on any Mac computer instead.

Switch to the application in which you want to right click.

Hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard.

Click with the mouse or trackpad on the desired item. The contextual menu will appear. You can release the "Control" key and the mouse or trackpad and use your cursor to choose between the contextual menu options.
