How to Make Professional Websites for Free
As more businesses are discovering the benefits of developing an online presence, the need for a professional website is more and more in demand. If you run your own business or wish to make a professional looking website for freelance work, several web hosts offer domains and space with a wide selection of templates free of charge. Making your professional website costs nothing more than registering with the web host and providing your name and email address.

Click "Sign up now" on the Wordpress homepage and create a username, a password and an email address to register your blog.

Fill out the form, including a domain name (i.e. "mycompany.wordpress.com") and a title (i.e. "My Company"). Select "Create blog" when you are finished.

Click "Appearance," located under the "Themes" column, and find a professional looking template. Choose one that is clean and easy for visitors to navigate, and one that also fits the image you want for your business.

Click the "Pages" tab and add the pages you want to include. Consider an "About Us" page with a bio of yourself or your company, a "Contact and Directions" page, or a "Product Description" page. The pages should guide visitors directly to the information they are looking for.

Click the "Posts" tab. Enter a title for the post, followed by text in the post box. Click the images icon in the toolbar to upload any pictures or your company logo to the post. Click "Preview" to see your page as it will appear on the site, then click "Publish" when you are ready for your website to go live.

Click "Sign me up" on the Blogger homepage and create a username, along with a password and email address for registration.

Blogger will take you to the "Templates" page. Find a template that is clean and easy to read and navigate, with a design that fits your company's image. Click the template to preview, then click the "Apply to blog" link.

Click the "New post" link on the left side of your dashboard. Enter a title for your page, and text into the post box. Click the image icon to upload any pictures or your company logo, and add tags underneath in the "Tags" box to help visitors find your website. Click "Preview" to view your website, then click "Publish post" when you are ready for your website to go live.

Go to the Tumblr homepage and fill out the form, including your email address, your new Tumblr password and the URL address you want (i.e. "mycompany.tumblr.com"). Select "Sign up."

Click the "Themes" link at the top and search through the templates Tumblr offers. Select a template that is easy to navigate. Click "Appearance" to adjust the colors of the font and design to match your company's brand.

Click the "Text" link to enter a title and content for your pages. Click the image icon to upload pictures or graphics. Click "Preview" to see what your website will look like, then select "Create post" when you are ready to publish.
