How to Manually Download Windows Updates for Vista
The automatic way to download and install updates for the Windows Vista operating system is to run a native Windows application called Windows Update. If you would rather download these updates manually, you can do so from Microsoft's own website. Each update will be available individually through this particular site, so you can download and install any update you'd like at your leisure.
