How to Instantly Print Colored Photos

How to Instantly Print Colored Photosthumbnail
Digital technology allows you to print your photos at home.

Many people enjoy using digital cameras because of their flexibility. In addition to providing you with the opportunity to see your pictures right away, they also allow you to make prints of them without going to a photo booth. In terms of printing your photos out yourself, several options exist. One involves home printing, the other a trip to a store. However, both options are fairly inexpensive and both allow you to print your photos the same day you took them.

    • Digital camera and accessories
    • Graphics software
    • Photo quality paper
    • Printer
    • Photo card
    • Photo machine
    1. On Your Home Computer

      • 1

Create a file folder on your computer. Name it according to the pictures you're going to print out. For examples, if you're printing your pictures from your trip to the coast, name the folder "Trip to the Coast." This method comes in handy when you have several memory cards full of photos; it allows you to separate them all.

      • 2

Hook your digital camera up to your computer using the USB cable that came with it. A pop-up menu should appear in a couple of seconds once your computer recognizes the camera. Inside the pop-up menu, you'll see thumbnail graphics of all of your pictures.

      • 3

Right-click inside the pop up file and click on "Select All" in the "Edit" menu on the upper left-hand side of the screen. All of your picture files should become highlighted.

      • 4

Choose "Cut" from the "Edit" menu. You'll see "ghost" images of your pictures' icons. Once this happens, go to your file folder on your computer and click on "Edit" again. Select "Paste" this time. All of your picture files will be transferred into the new folder.

      • 5

Right-click on a photo and choose the "Open With" option from the drop down menu. Select a graphics program like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw. Make sure you choose a program with which you're familiar. This allows you to make corrections on the photos without having to also try and learn the program. The picture you've selected will open up in this program.

      • 6

Make any corrections to the photo you need to, including its dimensions. Usually, digital photos pull up on your computer at 72 dpi (dots per inch). In your graphics program, change the dpi to 200.

      • 7

        Save the file.

      • 8

Load photo-quality paper into your printer and print the photo onto your photo paper.

      • 9

Cut the photo out. Repeat this process until you've printed and cut out all your photos.

      In the Store

      • 1

Go to a store that has an on-site photo printing machine. This could be a store like Walmart or Walgreens. Be sure to bring the memory card from your camera with you.

      • 2

Insert the digital memory card into the slot on the machine. You should see your photos pop up one at a time.

      • 3

Follow the instructions for getting rid of red-eye or cropping the photo as the machine prompts you.

      • 4

Print out your corrected photos as the machine prompts you.

      • 5

Take your digital card out of the photo machine.
