How to Enable SSL in Gmail
Online security is always a concern, especially when accessing your email account. This is certainly no different if you are a Gmail user. To this end, most email providers, including Gmail, use some form of Secure Socket Layer (SSL). "Web servers and Web browsers rely on the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to create a uniquely encrypted channel for private communications over the public Internet," according to VeriSign. Typically, websites that use SSL are accessed through "https://" rather than "http://." Enabling this feature in Gmail can make your account less vulnerable.
