How to Recycle Panasonic Toner

How to Recycle Panasonic Toner thumbnail
Recycle spent toner by shipping it back to Panasonic.

Panasonic offers easy, free toner recycling for its used cartridges, but you can also recycle spent toner in your community if you don't want to package and ship off the toner. Companies can refill the toner bottles, reducing the environmental impact of creating new plastic bottles. Although used toner cartridges can be easily recycled, fresh cartridges contain hazardous chemicals and must not be recycled until they are empty.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove your toner cartridge from your printer. Install the new toner cartridge.

    • 2

Place the used toner in the bag that held the new toner cartridge and seal the used toner back up in the box that held your new toner. Close the box with packing tape. Affix the prepaid UPS shipping label that was in the toner box. Panasonic provides these labels in every toner box for easy toner recycling.

    • 3

Drop the box off at your local UPS drop box or shipping center because this is Panasonic's shipper of choice.

    • 4

Check with local office supply stores in your community to determine whether they have onsite toner recycling programs. If so, drop your used toner cartridge off for recycling at the store. Panasonic notes that Office Depot and Staples both have in-store toner recycling programs that accept its products.

Tips & Warnings
