How to Make a Brochure in Microsoft Publisher
Creating a brochure in Microsoft Publisher is hassle-free if you are using a template. Brochure templates come with preexisting designs and content that you can replace with your information. You'll find brochures for different categories, from informational pieces to events. You can instruct Publisher to include or leave out forms and the customer's mailing address and specify the number of panels the brochure should contain.
Instructions
-
-
1
Open Publisher and go to the "New Publication" task pane.
-
2
Expand "Publications for Print" and click on "Brochures." Choose the type of brochure you want to create. Click the thumbnail of the design you want to use. It will load on your page.
-
-
3
Select "Brochures Options" from the task pane. Customize the template by picking the number of panels you'll like to include, whether you want to include the customer's address and the type of form (if any) you want.
-
4
Select "Color Schemes" from the task pane to pick your colors. To use a color-scheme that's not on the list, click on "Custom color scheme..." at the bottom of the task pane.
-
5
Select "Font Schemes" from the task pane to customize your fonts.
-
6
Set the "Zoom" button to 100%, so you can view your work more easily. Then create the contents of your brochure by double-clicking the placeholder heading. Replace its content with the heading you want to use.
-
7
Highlight the placeholder text within the body of your brochure and type your own. To delete an entire line of text, highlight it and press the "Delete" key. To emphasize an area of your brochure, select it and choose the "Bold" button from the "Formatting" toolbar. To add bullets, place your cursor where the bullet should appear and select the "Bullets" button from the "Formatting" toolbar.
-
8
Select any pictures you want to replace. The "Picture" dialog box will appear. Then click on the "Insert Picture" button (in the "Picture" dialog box) to find another picture. Double-click the new picture you want to use. It will replace the old image on your page. To insert your own caption for the image, click on the caption for the image and customize it for your brochure.
-
9
Select "File" and "Save" from the toolbar to save your work.
