Mega ramp skating

Mega ramp skating has just recently made an appearance in the skateboarding industry. Longtime professional skateboarder Danny Way remains responsible for thinking up the design for the mega ramp. The mega ramp consists of an 80-foot tall drop-in that shoots the skater over a gap measuring more than 40 feet in length. Landing any trick on the mega ramp remains an accomplishment. Landing good and difficult tricks on the mega ramp takes years of experience and countless safety precautions. Even veteran mega ramp skaters like Danny Way still get nervous before dropping into the colossal ramp.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, long sleeves and long pants. Make a trip to a local half pipe ramp in your area measuring 13 feet in height. Place the concave tail of your skateboard on the metal coping at the top of the half pipe. Lean forward until your front wheels touch the face of the ramp and roll into the half pipe.

    • 2

Put pressure on the tail of the board as you reach the top of the half pipe. Jump into the air while sliding your front foot forward to perform the Ollie. Land back on the face of the ramp with all four wheels. Practice on the half pipe for six months to a year as the mega ramp stands seven times taller than the average half pipe.

    • 3

Contact Danny Way or Bob Burnquist through email or telephone. Drive or fly to either Danny Way's ramp in Mexico City or Bob Burnquist's ramp in San Paulo, Brazil. Walk to the top of the eight-story drop-in to the mega ramp. Put on all the required clothing and pads.

    • 4

Bend down and touch your left toe with your right hand. Squat up and down with your arms pointed forward to stretch out your legs. Ask Danny Way or Bob Burnquist if they have any advice.

    • 5

Drop into the mega ramp and keep your weight balanced as to not fall before the gap. Perform an Ollie over the 40-foot gap and then roll up the quarter pipe. Practice the Ollie over the gap before attempting any other trick.
