How to Record With a Shure PG58 Mic

The Shute PG58 microphone is designed for use primarily with vocals. To record with the PG58, you need to connect it to a mixer with a recorder or a recording interface. Depending on what device you use, you can record directly to a tape, CD or memory card. You can also use recording software to record the audio to a hard drive. The PG58, like many microphones, uses XLR connections for connecting to mixers or recording interfaces.

Things You'll Need

• PG58 Microphone
• XLR cable
• Mixer or Recording Interface

Instructions

1. Connect an XLR cable into the PG58 Microphone.

2. Connect the other end of the XLR cable into your mixer or recording interface.

3. Press the "record" button when you are ready to record.

4. Press "stop" when you are done recording. If you are using recording software instead of recording directly to tape, CD or memory card, save the recording (most likely by pressing "ctrl"+"s").
