Register on the site. BidsTick.com gives its new members three free bids, allowing them to test out the site. Although it is not unheard of for some members to win auctions using these free bids, their primary purpose is to let you observe bidding activity and learn from other members' strategies.

Purchase bids from BidsTick.com to join the bidding game. Bids, which are sold in packages of 10 to 100 bids, are priced at $1 each. Larger bid packages get you more free bids, which in turn lets you save more money.

Bid on live auctions. Auctions on BidsTick.com start at a penny and feature a timer called a "Tick Time." The price of an item increases by 1-cent increments with each bid, which also resets the Tick Time. The Tick Time is usually set at one to three minutes. Note that the higher the value of an item, the shorter its Tick Time usually is. This is to encourage competitive bidding and create nail-biter scenarios. As with regular online auctions, the last bidder to place a bid before the timer runs out wins the auction.
