How to Make a Cool Avatar

The word avatar is used when referring to a person's virtual persona that exists in the digital world of computers and cyberspace. Avatars are popularly used in blogs, online forums and many online social networking sites. Use these free tools to create a cool avatar.

Instructions

1. Use the free online Avatar Maker from I-Am-Bored.com to design a custom avatar. Click to select skin color, chin type, eye color, hair color, mouth type and facial design patterns. Click the "Accessories" tab to add even more features. Press the "Print Screen" button when finished to copy the screenshot to the clipboard. Right-click on the desktop and select "New" and "Bitmap Image." Open the new bitmat image and press "Ctrl"+"V" to paste the image from the clipboard. Use the Selection Tool to select only the avatar and press "Ctrl"+"X" to cut the selection. Click "File" and "New Image" to create a new image and then press "Ctrl"+"V" to paste the selection. Save the file.

2. Go to ShrinkPictures.com and click on "Create Avatar." Click the "Browse" button and select an image file from the hard drive. Type in the size for the avatar into the box and click the "Resize" button.

3. Go to DoppelMe.com and use their online avatar creation tool. Select a gender, skin tone and eye color and click the "Next" button. Use the tools to add custom expressions, hair, eyewear, hats and many other items to your avatar. You must register for a free account and sign in to download your avatar.
