Things You'll Need
- Red infant bodysuit
- 1/2 yard of black fleece
- Small circular object such as a cup
- White chalk
- Scissors
- Sewing machine or needle and thread
- Black infant stocking cap
- Polyester stuffing
- Black infant tights
Instructions
-
-
1
Fold 1/2 yard of black fleece in half.
-
2
Trace the base of a cup or another circular object in a similar size five times on the fleece using white chalk. Cut the circles out of the fleece.
-
-
3
Sew the fleece circles onto a red infant bodysuit with a needle and thread or a sewing machine using a zig-zag stitch. Place the circles randomly on the bodysuit but space them evenly so they aren't clumped together.
-
4
Cut two 2-by-3 inch rectangles of black fleece from what is left over after cutting the circles.
-
5
Fold the rectangles of fleece in half and sew along the long edge and one of the short edges with a 1/2-inch seam allowance.
-
6
Turn the rectangles of fleece right side out so that the seam allowances are on the inside.
-
7
Stuff the fleece tubes with polyester filling so they are fairly stiff and sew the open end of the tubes shut, turning in a 1/2-inch seam allowance as you do so.
-
8
Sew one end of each stuffed fleece tube to the top of a black infant stocking cap to create the ladybug's antennae.
-
9
Dress your baby in black infant tights first, then the red with black polka dot body suit, followed by the antennae cap. Now your little sweetie is a ladybug.
