How to repair a broken Rock Band kick pedal
Rock Band is a blast to play with friends and family. There's nothing better than breaking out the guitars, microphone and drums. But if you've been rocking out too hard on your Rock Band drum set, don't worry, with a little Gorilla Glue and Gorilla Tape you can fix the problem. All you need to do is glue the swivel point and the foot part of the kick pedal back together and tape your kick pedal up, and you'll be back on the road.
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut off a 12-inch piece of Gorilla Tape and five 6-inch pieces of Gorilla Tape.
-
2
Apply Gorilla Glue to the points on the swivel piece and the foot piece where the kick pedal broke.
-
-
3
Press the pieces together.
-
4
Quickly take one end of the 12-inch piece of Gorilla Tape and run it between the swivel point and the base of the kick pedal. Press that end of tape up against the spring on the bottom of the foot part of the kick pedal.
-
5
Pull the tape tight around the swivel point and press it along the foot part of the pedal until the tape runs out.
-
6
Wrap the five 6-inch pieces of Gorilla Tape around the foot part of the pedal, starting at the bottom and working about halfway up the foot pedal. Overlap the pieces until you run out of tape.
-
7
Leave the kick pedal alone for at least one day before hooking back into your Rock Band drum set and continuing to play.

Tips & Warnings
If your Rock Band kick pedal still feels a little wobbly after the repair, don't be afraid to take your pedal apart and repeat the process. If you feel like more tape would help hold the pedal in place, don't hesitate to use more tape.
To keep from breaking your Rock Band kick pedal, make sure you are pressing down squarely with your foot when hitting the notes. Also, don't press down too hard on the kick pedal, as this just adds unneeded stress to the swivel point.
In your attempt to repair the foot pedal, don't disassemble the foot pedal by removing the spring. You have to rip the spring out to remove it, and if you do that, you will be unable to use that specific kick pedal again and you will need to get a new one.
Do not continue using the kick pedal if it is slipping off of the swivel point. This is a good way to damage the spring. Simply remove the tape, and try the repair again.
