How to Make Your Own Candy Bar Wrappers for Free
Customized candy bars are commonly given as wedding favors or by businesses as promotional items. Many companies now offer customized candy bar wrappers for these purposes. However, if you prefer to save money, you can have fun making your own candy bar wrappers for free.

Open a new word processing document on your computer. Most people have word processing software installed on their home computers, and these applications are relatively simple for most users to navigate. If you have access to--and the ability to use--more advanced image creation software, feel free to do so.

Design your wrapper. Before you begin adding text, images or clip art to your wrapper, switch the orientation of your page to "landscape" view. This will allow you to create two wrappers on one sheet of paper. Add text, images, pictures or designs to one half of the page (each half-page will be one wrapper). Take note of the fact that text and images placed in the middle of the page will appear on the front of the candy bar as opposed to text located at the top, which will appear on the back of the candy bar after folding. Highlight, copy and paste a duplicate of your wrapper layout to the opposite side of the page. This way, each sheet of paper will create two individual wrappers.

Print your candy bar wrapper using either an ink jet or laser printer. You may also use any type of paper that you choose. Plain white copy paper is the most economical and works well for this purpose. If you want to add some pizzazz to an otherwise plain wrapper, you can use colored or textured paper available from your local craft store.

Fold each printed sheet in half to create a guide for cutting out your wrapper. Use your scissors to cut each printed sheet on the fold line. If you purchased pre-wrapped chocolate bars, remove the paper wrapper that was supplied by the manufacturer. If you will be wrapping your own homemade candy bars, wrap each bar in aluminum foil before applying your custom paper wrapper. To apply your paper wrapper, wrap the paper around the candy bar so that the ends of the wrapper meet at the back of the bar. Place a small amount of glue on one end of the wrapper and affix the opposite end to the glue.
