How to Make Pew Bows With Lomey Pew Holders
Whether you're getting married or celebrating a baptism, communion or confirmation in the church, many people like to decorate pews for the occasion. Pew bows can be used to decorate the outside of each--or every other--pew. Pew holders made by the Lomey company--which makes a variety of products for decorating church pews--will ensure that the bows stay tightly on each of the pews. Use wide ribbon or organza sashes to create the bows directly on the pew holders, which will clip on to the ends of the pews.
Things You'll Need
- Lomey pew holder
- 2 organza sashes or pieces of ribbon, each 3 yards long and 9 inches wide
- Scissors

1
Sit down and place the Lomey pew holder between your knees with the part that clips over the pew and faces the inside of the pew on the bottom. The part that faces the aisle should be facing up--this is the top clip.
-
2
Place the first organza sash under the top clip. Adjust it so there is an equal amount of sash on either side of the top clip. Tie the sash into a knot.
-

3
Fold the right sash tail into a bow loop. Pull the left sash tail around the loop, folding it around the front of the bow and into the back. Pull the left tail through the back of the bow to form the second bow loop.
-
4
Pull on the bow loops to tighten the bow, or tug on the tails to loosen the bow. Adjust the bow to the desired length.
-
5
Place the second organza sash on top of the center of the bow. Fold the sash tails around the middle of the bow, tying them into a knot in the back of the bow. This will add two more tails to the bow, as well as help the bow tighten to the pew holder.
-
6
Cut the tails so they are the same length. Repeat these steps until you have enough pew bows for each pew--or every other one--on both sides of the aisle.
