Auto-install a new layout for your Twitter page.

Twitter has a feature that will allow you to upload your own layout/background schemes if you don't like the ones that come with your Twitter account. You can choose backgrounds from other sources. However, with many of these sources, you have to download the background as an image on your computer and then upload it to Twitter. If you don't want to use your hard drive space to download these background images, you can use a source that will auto-install the Twitter layouts for you.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit a website that allows you to use Twitter layouts that can be auto-installed. A few of the sites that provide auto-install Twitter layouts are Twit Rounds, Twitter Styles, Tweak My Twitter and Twitter Backgrounds.

    • 2

Click on the Twitter layout that you would like to use as a background on your Twitter page.

    • 3

Customize the layout according to your personal preferences. You won't be able to change the image. However, you will be able to change components such as the background color, the text color, the color for your links and the color you want your sidebar to be.

    • 4

Enter your Twitter username and password into the designated boxes for auto-install. Click on the option to "Install Background" or "Install Layout" (exact wording will slightly vary).

    • 5

View your Twitter page to ensure that your layout was successfully installed. If you decide you don't like your color choices for the layout, you will have to repeat the steps of choosing the layout from the layout site. You can then choose new colors for your color scheme. You will have to re-enter your Twitter login information to re-install the layout.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful when providing the login username and password for your Twitter account. If you don't trust the site, go with your instincts to prevent yourself from falling victim to a "Phishing" scheme.
