Instructions

    • 1

Lower the front door on the right side of the MFC-240C. After a moment, the ink cartridges move to the right side of the printer where you can reach them.

    • 2

Examine the message on the screen of the printer to determine which ink cartridge you need to replace. For example, the message might say "Ink Empty Magenta."

    • 3

Examine the markings on the ink cartridges or the front door of the MFC-240 to determine which ink cartridge to remove. Lower the plastic lever in front of that cartridge, and pull the cartridge toward you and out of the printer.

    • 4

Remove the replacement ink cartridge from the pack, and lift the plastic cap off of the top. Do not touch anything under the cap.

    • 5

Hold the ink cartridge with the side label facing up, and push it directly into the carrier in the direction of the arrow on the cartridge. Raise the plastic lever in front of the cartridge to lock it in place.

    • 6

Examine the screen on the front of the MFC-240C. There should be a message asking if you changed an ink cartridge. Press the "1" button to confirm this.

    • 7

Examine the screen to see if any other cartridges need to be replaced. If so, replace them by repeating the steps in this article. If no other status messages are shown, lift the front door of the printer and close it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check the printer screen again after closing the front door. If the screen displays the word "Install," you may have made a mistake when replacing the ink cartridge.
