How to Sync Mozilla Bookmarks
As of July 2010, Firefox 3.6.7 is the latest version of Firefox. You can add the Firefox Sync add-on to Firefox to sync your bookmarks to all of your Internet devices, including multiple computers and mobile devices. Even better, Apple has approved Mozilla's Firefox Home application through the iTunes App Store to allow you to sync to your iPhone, iPod and iPad. The final version of Firefox 4, which as of July 2010 is in beta release, will include Firefox Sync in the browser so you won't have to add it manually.

Setting Up Firefox Sync on Your Computer

Visit the Firefox Sync website (see References), download and install the Firefox Sync add-on and then restart your browser. The "Add-on" window will appear when Firefox restarts.

Click the "Options" tab in the Add-ons window and click "Set Up Firefox Sync." Click "I've Never Used Sync Before."

Enter a username using only lowercase letters, a password and an email address, then check the "I Agree..." check box. Click "Next."

Enter your secret phrase using only English characters and click "Next."

Choose which items to sync. Mozilla suggests that you use the default setting of "Sync Everything," but you can also customize what Firefox will sync if you prefer. Enter text according to what's in the image to verify you're human. Click "Next" and then "Finish." Firefox will then sync your information automatically in the background.

Click the "Options" tab in the "Add-ons" window and click "Set Up Firefox Sync." Select "I'm Already Using Sync on Another Computer."

Enter your username and password and then click "Next."

Choose whether to merge the online sync data with the data currently on the machine, replace the data currently on the machine with the online sync data or replace the online sync data with the data currently on the local machine. Click "Next" and then confirm to sync your data.
