How to Add a URL to the MSN Search

In May of 2009, Microsoft unveiled Bing, a search engine designed to replace the company's older search engine dubbed MSN Search. Microsoft describes this new Internet search engine as the world's first "Decision Engine." Like many other search engines, such as Google and Yahoo!, Bing provides a way for webmasters to submit website URLs to increase the chances of the website being included within a user's search results page.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your computer's Web browser and navigate to Microsoft Bing's URL submission page. Refer to the resources section below for the correct webpage link.

    • 2

Type the characters displayed in the Captcha image on the webpage into the text field box labeled "Characters." The Captcha is a test designed to weed out submissions from automated programs, which have trouble reading the test's distorted characters.

    • 3

In the "Type the URL of your Homepage" text field, type in the Web address for your website's home page and press the "Submit URL" button to complete the submission process. You do not need to submit links to individual pages; the MSNbot will crawl the entire website.
