How to Remove Industrial Double-Sided Tape
Industrial double-sided tape is used to secure one item to another. You can use the tape to secure heavy items--such as pictures or mirrors--to many types of walls, including paneling and drywall. Industrial double-sided tape is designed to keep the item in place. This makes removal of the tape rather difficult. Removing the tape incorrectly could damage the wall. Remove the item that was secured to the wall with the industrial double-sided tape. This will reveal the tape, making removal easier.

Plug your hair dryer into an electrical outlet and set it on a medium setting. Move the hair dryer back and forth above the industrial double-sided tape to soften the adhesive.

Hold a piece of fishing line between your hands as tight as possible. Slide the fishing line underneath the industrial double-sided tape and wall. Stay as close to the wall as possible. The fishing line is used as a knife to cut the tape away from the wall.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 several times until you have removed as much of the double-sided tape as possible.

Apply water-displacing spray to a soft cloth. Gently scrub the wall with the cloth. The water-displacing spray will remove the sticky residue left behind by the tape.
