How to Save Your Outlook Express Address Book

If you want to save your Outlook Express address book to back up your data, the program allows you to export your address book in a file. Simply saving the file of your Outlook Express address book on your computer may not be helpful if your computer crashes. Therefore, consider saving the file on several platforms, including, but not limited to, your web-based email inbox (see Resources).

Instructions

      Launch Outlook Express. Select "File," "Export" and then "Address Book."

      Choose "Text File (Comma Separated Values)" and then click "Export."

      Select "Browse" and choose a location on your PC where you would like to save your address book file. Enter a name in the "File Name" field and click "Save."

      Choose "Next," select the checkboxes for the contacts you would like to export and then hit "Finish."

      Select "OK" and then choose "Close" to finish saving your Outlook Express address book.
