How to Change Your Name in Team Fortress Classic

"Team Fortress Classic" (TFC) is a popular FPS (first-person shooter) that was modified from Valve's "Half-Life." The game centers on team-based, multiplayer combat with nine different character classes for players to choose from. Just like Valve's "Team Fortress 2" released in 2007, TFC features two different methods you can utilize for gamer tag customization. You must either use the game server's "Console Commands" through your computer keyboard or access your Steam account and change your "Friend Display Name."

Instructions

  1. Console Commands

    • 1

Launch a game of "TFC" on any map.

    • 2

Press the "~" key to access your "Console Commands."

    • 3

Type in "name (your desired name here)."

    • 4

Press "Enter" to enter and save your new name for TFC.

    Steam Friends Display Name

    • 5

Launch Steam to access your user account.

    • 6

Click the "Multiplayer" tab from the main menu. Go to the "options" menu and select "Friends Display Name."

    • 7

Type in your new screen name and press "Enter" to change and save your new name.
