How to Install Camper Jacks
Camper jacks are required to keep your camper stable and fully supported while in use, as well as during times of storage. Camper jacks are designed to carry the bulk of the weight of the camper. This helps lighten the weight on the tires, which makes them last longer. Camper jacks can also help level a camper when necessary.
Instructions

-
1
Assemble the camper jacks according to the manufacturer's instructions, as all jacks vary from one brand to another.
-
2
Place the camper jacks in weight bearing locations, typically one in front and two in the back. Most campers will have designated places for camper jacks. If there is not a specified location, place the jack in a solid looking location on the frame of the camper.

3
Raise the camper jacks a little bit at a time by cranking, pushing a level up and down or simply pressing a button for hydraulic jacks. All camper jacks are designed differently, so follow the manufacturer's instructions. Raise the camper jacks only about 6 inches at a time if doing each one separately.
-
4
Work your way around the camper raising the jacks 6 inches at a time until the camper is high enough to pull the vehicle away from the camper.
-
5
Pull the vehicle away from the camper making sure not to bump the jacks or the camper itself.
-
6
Check to be sure the camper is level. Place a level on a surface inside the camper. Raise or lower the camper jacks as necessary until the camper is level.

Tips & Warnings
Place a small piece of plywood, about 4-by-6, between the camper jack and the camper if needed so that the camper jack has a decent footing to hold the weight. This is typically only necessary on older campers that do not have set locations for the camper jacks.
Before pulling the vehicle away from the camper, double check that the tow wiring has been disconnected.
When pulling the vehicle away from the camper, be sure the camper is completely cleared of the ball to avoid damaging the jacks or the camper.
