Instructions
-
-
1
Log in to your Fantasy UFC account at www.fantasy.ufc.com.
-
2
Find an upcoming event and click on "CLICK TO PLACE YOUR VOTES" in the lower right-hand corner of the event.
-
-
3
Select the fight you want to pick first from the list.
-
4
Open up a new tab and go to www.sherdog.com.
-
5
Scroll down on the Sherdog home page and locate the "Fight Finder." Enter the fighters' names and review their record. You are looking for each fighter's overall record, who they have fought, how they tend to finish fights (knock out, technical knock out, submission or decision), and what round their fights tend to finish.
-
6
Jot down notes about each fighter. When reviewing a fighter's history, give more weight to fights that they have had in bigger promotions, such as the UFC, Strikeforce, EliteXC, WEC, Independent Fight League, Pancrase or Ring of Fire.
-
7
Revisit the Fantasy UFC Web page and locate the fight featuring your researched fighters.
-
8
Choose who you think will win the fight. Take into account age and the level of difficulty in recent bouts. Older may be more popular and have more fights, but they tend to be toward the end of their career.
-
9
Select the winning method of victory. Review how the fighter you chose to win has finished fighters with a style similar to their opponent. Let's say you picked a fighter with a strong boxing base to beat a jiu-jitsu fighter, and that the boxer has finished each of his previous fights against jiu-jitsu fighters by knock out. Maybe the jiu-jitsu fighter has a history of getting knocked out by boxers. You should probably pick the boxing fighter to win by knock out.
-
10
Select the round your fighter will win in. Again, review the round your chosen fighter has finished opponents using a similar style. Also look at what round the fighter you picked to lose historically loses in. Give more weight to fighters who share a similar style to the fighter you picked to win.
-
11
Pick the winning minute. The UFC only has five-minute rounds, so you will have five choices. If you pick the fight to end in the third minute, it could be the third minute of any round. Again, look at the histories of your fighter's opponents and make the best choice.
