Instructions

  1. Finding the job

    • 1

Check the jobs page of your local British embassy or consulate frequently.

    • 2

These jobs open rarely, and because of fairness rules, embassies and the Foreign office will not keep your resume on file--you must apply for each job as it is advertised.

    • 3

If you are being considered for a job after you have submitted your application, you will be asked to come to the embassy for an interview.

    • 4

You will have to pass a written test and training program.

    • 5

If you have applied to become an operational officer with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, you will have to pass a security vetting process.
