How to Delete Your Favorite Sites History

Internet Explorer offers you the ability to add your favorite websites or websites that you visit frequently to your Favorites folder. This folder makes it easy for you to remember and relocate websites that you might want to visit in the future. If you let someone else use your computer or you decide to sell or give away your computer to someone else, then you might want to delete your Favorite sites history in order to preserve your privacy.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the “Start” button. Click “My Computer.” Click the “C" drive.

    • 2

Click the “Users” folder. Click your “User Name” folder. Click the “Favorites” folder. Your Favorite sites are displayed within the folder.

    • 3

Click on a website to select it and then press the delete key to delete it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Delete more than one website from your Favorite sites history by holding down the control key as you click on websites to select.

  • Back up any Favorites sites that you might want to keep on a flash drive, because once you delete them, you can only regain them by adding them back from the Internet.
