How to Install Altec Lansing Speakers to a Dell
Altec Lansing builds several different models of computer speakers. They all share in common the way they're installed to a computer. Place one speaker on either side of your computer's monitor. This will give you good stereo sound and separation. The speakers will be wired together with a single cable. Route this behind the computer monitor.

Plug the input cable for the computer speakers into the audio jack on the back of the computer. The audio jack will be a 3.5mm female jack, color-coded green. The input jack of the computer speakers is a male 3.5mm plug that is also color-coded green.

Plug the power cord of the speakers into a wall outlet or power strip.

Turn the computer speakers on with the switch on the front of the right speaker, and adjust the volute with the volume control knob.
