How to Add Printer HP 1120C to Computer
The Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 1120C is a wide format inkjet printer that requires a parallel printer cable instead of a universal serial bus (USB) printer cable. The required cable is not included with the printer and needs to be purchased separately. The cable is available at most retail electronic stores. You can find the cable with either two parallel ends or with one parallel end and one USB end for computers that lack a parallel port. Check your computer for compatibility before purchasing the cable.

1
Check your computer's compatibility. The drivers available for this printer support Microsoft Windows 2000, 3.1, 95 and 4.0. If your computer does not run one of those versions of Windows, then the driver software will not function properly.
-
2
Turn off your computer.
-
-
3
Connect the parallel cable to the port on the back of your printer.
-
4
Connect the other end of the parallel cable to your computer. If you use the parallel port of your computer and not the USB port, then tighten the screws to secure the connection.
-
5
Connect the power cord. Plug the power cord into your printer and then into a power outlet.
-
6
Turn on your computer.
-
7
Insert the starter compact disc (CD) that came with your printer into your computer's CD-ROM drive. If you do not have the starter CD, you can download the printer drivers from HP's website, which is linked in the Resources section.
-
8
Allow the installation program to start automatically.
-
9
Click the "Printer Driver" option on the installation program's menu. This will begin the installation process to add the printer.
