Start by checking the lid switch on the top of your Kenmore 70. If the door switch is defective, this could inhibit the washer from spinning properly. Close the lid to see if the latch on the inside of the unit is latching properly. Use your fingers to bend it back in place if needed.

2
Pull your Kenmore 70 from the back of the wall so you have access to the back panel of the unit. Unplug your unit from the wall outlet and use a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the back panel onto the Kenmore 70.

Locate the washer belt on the bottom of the basket. The belt should be wrapped around the bottom of the unit's basket and then wrapped around the motor pulley from the motor. If the belt has fallen off or broken, replace it on the correct parts or replace it all together.

Check the motor couple on the Kenmore 70's washer. The motor coupler is a small rubber or plastic piece on the motor's shaft. Replace the motor coupler if it is broken or slide it back into place if it has fallen off of the unit.

Put the back panel back on the unit and secure it with the screws holding it on. Plug your Kenmore 70 back into the wall outlet and then test it would with an empty load of laundry.
