How to Copy a URL

How to Copy a URL thumbnail
The box on the web browser where your URL goes will look something like this.

The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of a website refers to its Internet address. This address location can be found at the box at the top of your web browser. It usually begins with "http://," which stands for "Hyper Text Transfer Protocol," and has an ending like ".com," which signifies that the website is commercial. It can also end with ".org," indicating a nonprofit organization, or ".gov," indicating a government site. Copying this address allows you to send the exact webpage to friends so they can see what you see.

Instructions

    • 1

Double-click on the URL address at the top of the web browser for the page you want. The text becomes highlighted.

    • 2

Right-click on the highlighted URL text.

    • 3

Select "Copy" from the drop-down menu. This copies the address to your computer's clipboard. You can then right-click in an email, or elsewhere, and select "Paste" to add the URL address.
