How to Get Your eFax Account & Send Faxes From Your Computer Using Office XP
The eFax software allows you to send and receive faxes to any fax number right from the comfort of your computer. However, you must pay for usage of the eFax software. You can then send and receive faxes using three different methods. You can send/receive faxes directly through the eFax website. You can send/receive faxes by downloading the eFax Messenger Software. Or you can also send/receive using your Microsoft Office Outlook email program.

Sign up for an eFax account through eFax. The cost for sign-up varies depending upon the amount of faxes you desire to send/receive each month. As of July 2010, there are two eFax plans available. One cost $16.95 monthly plus a $10 setup fee. The other cost $19.95 per month with a $19.95 setup fee. During the sign up process you will be able to designate the email address with which you want to send and receive faxes.

Ensure that the email address that you designated in step 1 is set up in your Microsoft Office Outlook Express email program. If you don't have the account set up already, you can set it up by clicking on "Tools" and "Accounts." Select the "Mail" tab. Click the "Add" button. Enter all of the email settings for your email address to complete the set up of the email account.

Open your Microsoft Office Outlook email client to create your new fax.

Type the fax number that you are sending the fax to in the "To" field. Behind the fax number you must type "@faxsend.com." For example, if the fax number you are sending to is 1234567890, you will type "1234567890@faxsend.com" in the "To" field.

Click on the "Attach" button in Microsoft Office Outlook to attach the documents you would like to send with the fax. You will be able to browse through the documents on your computer and Double-Click on them to attach them.

Type any information that you want to appear on your cover letter. The cover letter information should be typed in the "Body" field of Microsoft Office Outlook.

Click "Send" to send your eFax.
