How to Reset a Compaq W17Q

If you have adjusted your Compaq W17Q monitor's display features to an undesirable configuration or level, consider resetting the monitor to its factory-default settings. You can perform the reset by pressing a series of buttons on the monitor's front-control panel. It is not necessary to restart your computer or unplug the monitor to reset it to the original settings.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" button on the Compaq W17Q's front control panel. This button is the second-to-last button on the control panel--it's also labeled. After you press the button, you'll see the on-screen menu.

2. Press the "Volume +" button repeatedly, until the display icon "R" is highlighted on the on-screen menu. The "Volume +" button is directly to the left of the "Menu" button.

3. Press the "Menu" button to select "R" to choose the reset option. The on-screen menu then displays "Yes" or "No." Press the "Volume +" button to highlight "Yes."

4. Press the "Menu" button to reset the Compaq W17Q.
