Instructions

    • 1

Trace the desired outline of the stained glass pendant onto a piece of stained glass using a grease pencil. A grease pencil is visible on the glass and removes easily, unlike other markers.

    • 2

Score one line of the outline using a glass cutter. Center the running pliers over one end of the score line. Press the pliers together to snap the score line and cut the glass. Repeat this step to cut the remaining outlines of the pendant.

    • 3

File the edges of the stained glass pendant smooth with a diamond file.

    • 4

Unroll a one-foot length of jewelry wire from the spool, but do not cut the wire. Make a 1/4-inch-long hook in the end of the wire with round nose pliers. Fit one bottom edge of the stained glass into the hook.

    • 5

Wrap the jewelry wire around the glass pendant in a cage-like spiral, ending on the back side of the glass at the top. Cut the wire from the spool when the glass is wrapped.

    • 6

Slide a pendant bail with a single loop bottom over the open end of the jewelry wire to the center at the top of the glass pendant. Press the end of the wire onto the back of the stained glass.

    • 7

Press the wire to fit around the stained glass pendant. Run a line of liquid jeweler’s glue over the wire on the back side of the pendant for added security. The glue will flow over the wire and attach to the glass. Jeweler’s glue dries clear.

Tips & Warnings

  • To hang the stained glass pendant without a wire cage, drill a small hole in the top of the stained glass pendant using a diamond drill bit. A pinch or an S-bail will fit through the hole to attach the pendant to a necklace.
