How to Train a Bunny to Use a Litter Box
Instead of using bedding for your bunny, you can train it to use a litter box. Training your bunny to use the litter box will keep its environment cleaner. A litter box prevents germs and bacteria from spreading in the bunny's enclosure if it is maintained properly. Rabbits can quickly learn how to use a litter box with the right training.

1
Determine where your bunny prefers to go to the bathroom in its enclosure. Rabbits usually prefer to use a corner or confined area.
-
2
Fill a small litter box halfway with critter litter. Avoid using deodorized, clay or clumping litter in the box because it can irritate the rabbit and cause it to become ill.

3
After placing the litter box in a preferred area, wear gloves and pick up a few rabbit droppings. Place these droppings into the litter box.
-
4
Change the litter box often to keep it clean. Provide a litter box outside of the cage to encourage the bunny to continue to use it.
