How to Register a Website to Google Search

Adding your website to Google's search engine can improve your rank in search results.

Google, the leading search engine company on the Internet, uses a process called "crawling" to index websites across the world and add them to its search results. However, Google also gives people the option to submit their website's URL address manually to the search engine system. Registering your site with Google's search engine can often improve your site's rank in search results.

• Computer with Internet connection

Instructions

1. Open any web browser on your computer.

2. Navigate to the "Add URL" page on Google's website (see Resources below).

3. Enter the full address of your website in the "URL" field and make sure to include "http://" at the beginning.

4. Enter any desired comments or keywords in the "Comments" field. This information will be passed on to Google and could increase your chances of being accepted into the search engine database.

5. Complete the security check by typing the letters you see in the box at the bottom of the form.

6. Press the "Add URL" button to complete the registration process.
