Twitter is a social networking site that allows its users to communicate with each other in 140 words or less. Users can follow updates from celebrities, companies, news stations and friends. This simplified form of blogging lets users post photos, attach links and even share videos with friends. However, once you have posted a tweet, there's no way to edit it unless you delete the entire thing. There are two similar ways to delete tweets.

Instructions

  1. New Tweet

      Log into your Twitter account.

      Type a message in the "What's Happening?" box.

      Click "Tweet." It's in the bottom right hand corner of the "What's Happening?" box. Your tweet should now appear in your timeline.

      Pass the mouse over the bottom right hand corner of the tweet that's in the news feed. A trashcan symbol with the word "Delete" next to it will appear. Click "Delete." A window will pop up asking if you really want to delete the tweet.

      Click "OK" in the pop-up window.

    Old Tweet

      Log into Twitter. In the top right hand corner of the page, there is a series of words. Click "Profile." A new window will appear that has nothing but your activity on it.

      Scroll through your tweets, and choose the one that you want to delete.

      Roll the cursor over the bottom right hand corner of the tweet that you want to delete, and click "Delete." When the window pops up, click "OK."
