Tips & Warnings
You must have your credit card handy to register your account since the four-digit card ID is not located on your monthly billing statement.
When making an electronic payment for the first time, it's a good idea to schedule the payment a week or so before its due, then check that it's been applied to your account successfully before the due date to rule out any problems with the way you entered your banking account information.
Avoid accessing your American Express account from a computer other than your home computer or personal laptop. If you must schedule online payments from a public computer, be sure you log out of your account before leaving the computer unattended.
