How to Get Rid of Meal Bugs
Meal bugs, also known as mealworms, are small wormlike pests that can feed off dry goods within your home. Mealworms are darkling beetle larvae that have yet to grow into fully maturity. Mealworms typically grow up to 25 mm in length and are yellowish in color with a black tip at one end. Infestation can occur outside your home due to decaying trash left on the ground. Mealworm problems inside the home are usually caused by an untidy pantry area where containers filled with grain foods have been left open. Does this Spark an idea?

Clean your pantry and kitchen area thoroughly with common household cleaners. Vacuum up food particles left on shelving, floors and behind appliances.

Throw away any open or exposed food containers that are infested with the mealworms If you have a mealworm infestation problem outside your home, pick up any trash lying on the ground outside in order to take away the potential food source.

Place unopened dry goods such as flour, corn meal, and oats inside your freezer for storage. The temperature of the freezer will eliminate any possibility of eggs turning into larvae. Keep uncontaminated dry goods in thick plastic containers with airtight lids to avoid future mealworm infestation problems
