How to Install Spybot Search & Destroy
Anti-virus software has flooded the market since the inception of the Internet. Accessing the web may leave your computer open to attacks from hackers and viruses. A computer virus may result in identity theft, cause your computer to run slowly, or even crash your computer entirely. What's even worse is that a computer virus may be entirely undetectable without the proper software. Downloading Spybot Search and Destroy

Go to the Spybot Search and Destroy website (see link in Resources).

Select the "Download" option next to the latest Spybot Search and Destroy file. A new page with a list of mirrors, or websites, to download from will appear. Select the first from the list and follow the download links.

Click "Save File" button and save the file to your downloads folder.
Running the Installer

Locate the downloaded save file in your Downloads folder. It should read something similar to spybotsd162.exe.

Double click the .exe file to run the installer. A setup wizard will open and install the program.

Select the language you want the installer to be run in and click "Okay".

Click "Next" on the following window and read the License Agreement. Select "I accept the agreement" and click "Next".

Chose where you want to install the program and click "Next". The following screens are set to the optimal settings and shouldn't be changed. Making any changes to the installation process may cause the program to install improperly. Click "Next" through these screens, and Spybot Search & Destroy will finish installing.

Tips & Warnings
Close all other programs when installing Spybot Search & Destroy. Open programs may cause the computer to run slowly and/or not properly install the program.
