How to Get the Genie on Sims 2

In "The Sims 2," players can summon the Genie--who grants them three wishes using two different methods. The Genie is a character first introduced in "The Sims," the first game in the Sims game franchise. In "The Sims 2," the Genie returns in the Free Time expansion pack. This expansion pack allows players to focus on hobbies and talents rather than careers and family life. Players gain hobby enthusiasm points while participating in different activities.

Instructions

Getting the Genie Using Hobby Enthusiasm Points

1. Earn at least 16 hobby enthusiasm points in your household. In order to earn hobby enthusiasm points, you must participate in activities such as music and sports. After participating in activities related to your hobby for a certain amount of time, you earn one hobby enthusiasm point at a time. After earning these points, you gain the ability to participate in new activities related to your hobby.

2. Wait for the Gypsy to leave an antique lamp at your door step.

3. Summon the Genie. Click the antique lamp. Once the lamp options show up, click the option to clean the lamp. Once you clean the lamp, the Genie appears and grants you three wishes.

Getting the Genie Using Cheats

1. Open the cheats window. Press and hold the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard. While holding the "Ctrl" key, press and hold the "Shift" key. Press the "C" key and release all the keys at the same time.

2. Type "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" in the cheats window and press "Enter."

3. Call the Gypsy. Click any telephone in your house. Click the "Services" option. Select the "Matchmaker" from the phone book options. The Gypsy comes to your lot.

4. Hold down the "Shift" key and click the Gypsy. Click the "Select Spawn" option and select "Genie Lamp." The lamp appears on your lot.

5. Summon the Genie from the lamp.
