How to Remove a Sink Tap Hole

A sink hole cover can plug a sink tap hole.

While you can remove a sink tap, you can't remove the sink tap hole. However, you can easily cover the opening with a sink hole cover. These cover's come in an array of finishes and will fit any standard kitchen sink center hole. Most local home repair stores will carry sink hole covers, which cost $3.59, as of July 2010.

Instructions

1. Clear away any debris or caulk from the around the hole after the existing sink tap has been removed.

2. Set the sink hole cover in place with the threaded end passing through the hole.

3. Thread the locking nut onto the threaded end of the sink hole cover from the underside of your kitchen sink.
