How to Reboot a Flip Video Ultra

The Flip Video Ultra is a mini-camcorder designed to be used as a pocket recording device. Rebooting your Flip Video Ultra is necessary where you notice the performance of the device is waning, or when you are experiencing random and unexplainable errors. Accomplish this by simply cycling the power on the device through a soft or hard reboot, a process that takes seconds.

Instructions

  1. Soft Reboot

    • 1

      Hold the power button on the device down until the screen blanks.

    • 2

      Wait roughly five to ten seconds for the power-down sequence to complete.

    • 3

      Press the power button again to restart the Flip Ultra.

    Hard Reboot

    • 4

      Press the "Power" button, turning the camera off.

    • 5

      Press the end of the safety pin into the reset button located in a hole by the camera's tripod mount.

    • 6

      Hold the button for five to ten seconds.

    • 7

      Power on the camera again to complete the hard reset.
