How to Find the Model of My Gateway Laptop

Gateway notes on its product websites that it makes four different types of laptops: the EC series, the ID series, the NV series and the P series. With multiple variations available for each series of laptop, finding parts or accessories for your Gateway laptop requires a clear understanding of exactly which type of laptop you own by finding the model number. There are three main ways to find the model of your Gateway laptop.

Instructions

    • 1

Look on the laptop. Gateway’s user guides note that laptop model and serial numbers are available on a white sticker on the bottom of your notebook.

    • 2

Check your owner’s manual. Gateway provides an owner’s manual with all of its laptops, and the model number should be on either the front cover or on one of the first two pages. If you cannot locate your owner’s manual, you may view or download a copy of it from the Gateway website, http://support.gateway.com.

Look on the purchase paperwork. Gateway lists your laptop’s model number on copies of invoices, purchase receipts and shipping documentation. Retailers selling Gateway laptops also provide the laptop’s model number on receipts or packing materials provided with the laptop.
