How to Stop Autofill on Google

Autofill is a feature implemented by the Google Chrome web browser to help fill in information on forms from data that was previously entered in the same form, saving time by allowing the user to select what they enter from a list of previous entries. Other browsers have a similar feature as well that can be disabled.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the wrench icon in Google Chrome and select "Options."

    • 2

Click the tab titled "Personal Stuff."

    • 3

Select the checkbox next to "Never save text from forms" and click "Close" once you have finished.

    • 4

Click the "Under the Hood" tab and click "Clear Browsing Data." Make sure the "Clear Saved Form Data" option is selected and select a time period from the drop-down box. Click "Clear Browsing Data" to clear the browser history.

Tips & Warnings

  • To be sure your browser doesn't save any more data, set the amount of days to keep history data to zero.
