You can disable AVG notifications from within the application's configuration.

AVG is a free antivirus program for Windows and Mac systems. The program provides real-time protection against viruses, spyware, Trojans and other malicious programs. AVG runs in the background and performs scans of your computer's files and memory on a regular basis set by you during the program's initial setup. The program also includes notifications that tell you when it is obtaining an update and completing system scans. These notifications appear on your computer's screen, but you can disable them if you don't want the program providing them or the notifications are causing issues with your system.

Instructions

    • 1

Open AVG by clicking on the program's icon on your Windows or Mac "Desktop." If an icon is not present, click "Start," "All Programs," "AVG User Interface," if using Windows.

If using a Mac, click on your Mac's hard drive icon. Click on the "Applications," "AVG" folders, then on "AVG User Interface."

    • 2

      Click "Tools," then "Advanced settings."

    • 3

Click on the check box next to "Display system tray notifications" under the heading "Balloon tray notifications," to disable AVG notifications.

    • 4

      Click "Apply," then "OK."

Tips & Warnings
