Team Fortress lets you shoot other players in a virtual environment.

Team Fortress began as a modification of the first-person shooting game, Quake, but rose to popularity as a modification for Half-Life 2, under the title of Team Fortress Classic. You can currently play both Team Fortress Classic and Team Fortress 2 against other people around the world on the Steam software network. While you are in the game, your score will be listed under your nickname, which you can change in one of two simple ways.

Instructions

  1. Use the Steam Client

      Double-click the Steam icon on your desktop to bring up the Steam client. You may have to enter you Steam user name and password to gain access to the client.

      Click on "Steam" on the upper left corner of the window and choose "Settings" from the drop-down menu. You can also click on "Friends" and choose "Change Profile Name" from the drop-down menu. Both "Settings' and "Change Profile Name" take you to the same profile window.

      You will see your current name listed in a box under "Profile Name." Delete the name and enter your new one. Click on "OK" at the bottom of the window to complete the process.

    Use the In-Game Console

      Press the tilde key to open up the console. The tilde is located to the left of the number "1" on your keyboard. The console will appear on the lower part of your screen.

      Type the word "name" followed by a space and then the name you desire in quotation marks. For example if I wanted to change my name to KillRx I would type: name "KillRx".

      Press the enter key and you name will now be changed.
