How to Get Rid of Dandruff on Cats
Cat dandruff occurs when the cat's skin is unusually dry, and causes include allergies, parasites, sunburn, lack of humidity or skin infections. There is also a type of mite called chyletiella that causes a condition known as walking dandruff. Dandruff is sometimes a symptom of diabetes mellitus. Both conditions require a trip to the veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment advice. It is possible to treat many of the causes of cat dandruff at home.

1
Give your cat omega 3 fatty acid supplements. Omega 3 helps reduce inflammation and maintain healthy skin. These supplements help nourish your cat's skin, which helps eliminate dandruff caused by allergies or unusually dry skin.
-
2
Brush your cat regularly to help the circulation of the skin's natural oils.
-
-
3
Bathe your cat with aloe vera or oatmeal shampoo designed for use in cats. This soothes the skin and can help get rid of dandruff.
-
4
Keep your cat indoors during the hottest part of the day to avoid sunburn, especially if your cat has light skin and/or thin fur.
-
5
Feed your cat a good quality, nutritious food. Ask your veterinarian for advice on the best diet for your cat.
-
6
Keep your cat away from anything that appears to cause an allergic reaction. Check with your veterinarian to find out the cause of your cat's allergies.
