How Do I Uninstall Mcafee Privacy Service?

McAfee products, like a lot of complexly designed antivirus and security programs, are difficult and tiresome to uninstall. When you try to remove McAfee products, some traces of the software are left on the system even after removal is seemingly complete. If you are trying to totally remove McAfee Privacy Service after the rest of the suite has been removed, you need the McAfee removal tool. If you just need to remove McAfee Privacy Service while maintaining other installations, then you must complete the removal process in Safe Mode.

Instructions

Removing McAfee Privacy Service Only

1. Restart your computer.

2. Press "F8" on your keyboard as the computer starts up. Choose to "Enter Safe Mode" by highlighting the option and pressing "Enter" on your keyboard.

3. Click "Start," then "Control Panel," then "Programs and Features."

4. Click "McAfee Privacy Service," then click "Uninstall."

5. Restart your computer and boot up normally, once the uninstallation process is complete.

Removing McAfee to Leave No Trace

1. Download the McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool (see Resources).

2. Double-click the removal tool to begin the complete removal of all McAfee products.

3. Restart your computer once the prompt "CleanUp Successful" appears on your screen.
