How to Format an Eee PC

Formatting a computer is the process of removing all information currently contained on the hard drive of the PC. This process is necessary on your Asus Eee PC when the information on the drive has become corrupted by a virus or other type of system problem. Accomplish this procedure by formatting the Eee PC from within DOS, a process that takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Things You'll Need

• DOS boot disk

Instructions

1. Insert the DOS boot disc into the Eee PC.

2. Restart the Eee. Press any key when prompted to boot into DOS.

3. Type "Format C:" and press "Enter."

4. Type "Y" to confirm formatting the Eee.
