DIY: Jewelry Display
Displaying your jewelry makes it easier to find your favorite pieces. Displays are also vital if you want to sell jewelry at fairs or other venues. Creating a simple DIY jewelry display out of items readily available is often less expensive than purchasing a display system. A display that showcases necklaces, bracelets and earrings allows you to store or show off items in a small space rather than creating a different display for each item.
Things You'll Need

Instructions

1
Remove the glass and cardboard backings from three, same-size wooden frames. Lay the frames face down onto your work surface.
-
2
Cut a piece of wire mesh to the same size as one of the frames. Stretch the material over the back of the frame and staple it in place. This is the earring display.
-
-
3
Cut a piece of pegboard with a table saw or jigsaw to fit into the other two frames. Use the glass or cardboard backing as a template to size the pegboard correctly.
-
4
Paint the pegboard with spray paint in your desired color. Allow the paint to dry completely and place the pegboard into the frame.
-
5
Lay the earring display face down in front of you. Measure one inch down from the top and one inch up from the bottom on either side of the frame and mark the location with pencil.
-
6
Attach a one-inch hinge at each of the pencil marks on the earring display so there are two hinges on each side of the frame. Use the small screws included with the hinge.
-
7
Lay a pegboard frame on either side of the earring display. Line up the bottom edges of all three frames and attach the other side of each hinge to the corresponding pegboard frame.
-
8
Stand the frames up and fold them at the hinges. Fold so that they form a three-sided display. Insert pegboard hooks into the pegboards for necklaces, rings and bracelets. Hang earrings in the mesh screen.

Tips & Warnings
Alter the pegboards and mesh to fit your needs. If you are only displaying necklaces, place a pegboard in each frame.
Home improvement stores often will cut the pegboard to your required size when you purchase it, upon request.
